About the Author

Eliot Cowan, author of Plant Spirit Medicine and a fully initiated Tsauirrikame (shaman) in the Huichol tradition, rediscovered the ancient practice of using plant spirits for healing. Working patiently and consistently over the course of several years, and drawing on his background as a Five-Element Acupuncturist, Eliot found a language of working with the plant spirits for the healing of others. After attaining success with his own clientele, Eliot went on to develop a training course to make this type of healing accessible to anyone who makes the commitment to study Plant Spirit Medicine.

About the Facilitator

As a trained Plant Spirit Medicine Healer and student of Eliot Cowan’s for over 15 years, Lisa will also be available to answer questions about the book, or Plant Spirit Medicine in general.

Who are the plant spirits that heal us?

Traditional cultures have long understood that both nature and humankind are endowed with intelligence and spirit. They understood that plants have a spirit. It was not unusual for individuals to have especially vivid experiences with the spirits of nature. They would make friends with the spirits of nature and call upon them for healing and other everyday affairs. In today’s society, people are once again turning to plants for guidance and wisdom and the ability to heal us in body, mind, and spirit. When you take the time to build a relationship with them, the plants will speak to you, guide you, and give you medicine to help your people. They give you what you need to live a better life.

“Plant spirit medicine works partially because it has broad perspective. It does not look only through the eyes of physics and chemistry; it sees human beings as expressions of divine natural forces. It plumbs the human mind and emotions. It gives paramount importance to spirit, the mysterious core of our lives.”
